Graduation and Commissioning

Saturday the 13th was a big day for us. Jon graduated from USU in the morning and had his commissioning into the Air Force later in the day. These pictures aren't fantastic but I'm going to keep posting them as I compile them from everyone else.
-GRADUATION-
Jon on the Jumbotron, in the sea of people, and with his friend Yomi.

-COMMISSIONING-
After 5 looong years, it finally happened. At the commissioning Jon took his oath and became a 2nd Lieutentant. Then his mom and I pinned on his "butter bars" which is his new rank and then he gave parent pins to his parents and a spouse pin to me. Then he signs on the dotted line and signed our lives away until at least 2020.

There was only 1 other Cadet that Commissioned this semester.
(The new 2nd Lt. Jensen)

Look at those SMILES. I think he was a little excited.

After we pinned on the "Butter Bars" and pinning on my Spouse Pin.

Three of the Tolman men.
After Commissioning we had a dinner at my Cousin Konie's house. (Thanks) It was packed. Thanks everyone who came to support Jon.

All in all it was a great day. Now we have to wait 5 long month until were off to Alabama in May, Colorodo in August, and finally Texas in October.

No Longer Newlyweds

So today Jon and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary. Were officially not newlyweds anymore. We had a pretty relaxed day. We went to Salt Lake and wandered around the Gateway. While we were there Jon decided that I should get a Build-A-Bear, but I of course had to get an elephant. We put it in a silly little circus conductor outfit. ( I don't have the pictures loaded yet but will put them up when I do.) Then I finally got to go the Cheesecake Factory, it was great.

All in all, we have had a great year. We've had our ups and downs, but we've survived them all together. I can't wait to see what this next year brings us. There will be lots of moving and traveling, including 2 new states for Shannon and 3 for Jon. Plus both of us will Graduate from USU, YAHOO, and hopefully many new adventures and surprises.
I LOVE YOU JON!

Dear Tech Support,

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications,

which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as

Romance 9.5 and

Personal Attention 6.5,

and then installed undesirable programs such as

NASCAR 6.0,

NFL 5.1 and

Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed, Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind,

Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while

Husband 1.0 is an Operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources..)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.

We recommend,

Cooking 3.0 and

Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck Babe!

I've been pretty happy with my Husband 1.0!!

Happy Birthdays To Us

Sept 13th was my birthday. We went to Jackson Hole with my parents and saw the Bar J Wranglers. We stayed over night and walked around the shops. I didn't take any pictures but we took an old time photo. It was fun and relaxing. I got some CD's, an emergency blanket for my car, shoes, a purse :), Wii Fit (so fun), and Jon and I both got a memory foam pad for our bed. That thing is heavenly. I had a great birthday that was nice and relaxing. Turning 22 has been weird for me. There is nothing exciting about 22 and now I feel like I should just be grown up and doing something with my life. I still feel about 16. Hmm.

Friday Oct 3rd was Jons birthday. He turned a Quarter of a Century! Old Fart!! We started out Thursday night and went to Ogden to Texas Roadhouse (our new favorite). We were mentioning how next year on his birthday we'll be enjoying some REAL Texas BBQ. I told the waitress it was his birthday and they made him sit on this saddle and had the whole restaraunt give him a big YEE-HAW!! He got a dutch oven, an ORANGE tie, an Air Force frame that were going to put his ROTC pictures in for his commissioning, and a wireless adaptor for his XBOX.

On friday Jon got up and went to school and I made him his Funfetti cake. When he got home, we ate our leftovers for lunch and headed off to go shooting with Jared, Landon, and Dayna. As always we had a great time shooting. The boys shot at the clay pigeons and I just shot the junk on the ground. I just cant do moving targets. The guns kicks back to much. That night my mom made Jon a Steak and Potato dinner. The rest of the day we just relaxed and enjoyed our time together.

Here are a few pictures from shooting.

Every time I would go to take Jon's picture he would put the gun down, so all the pictures I have of him are with Dayna.

All i wanted was a TREAT.

Well....Here how it all started. My lovely husband likes to go donate plasma, so he has also talked me into doing it, so I've been going for the last few months also. Well it's always been fine so I didn't think differently this time. Wednesday I left the Plasma Center at 1 and was going to meet Jon at 2 for his lunch break, so I had an hour to kill. And since I do love my treats I decided that a nice little snow cone sounded great. So I went to the BEST snow cone place in Providence by Firehouse to get my treat. I walked up to the shack, ordered my Peaches and Cream and then I suddenly started to get really hot. Then things were getting a little blurry and my ears starting itching/tingling. I have passed out before so I knew it was coming. So the girl handed me the snowcone and I paid her. Well thats all i remember. Next thing I know I felt my face smack the ground and the poor little snow cone girl is running at me. Yep, thats right I freaking passed out in the parking lot. I was at least 20-30 feet away from the shack and i don't remember getting there. Well the girl is yelling at me asking if I need help, i just kept saying "No, No, "I'm ok i think i just need some water" I got up and kinda crawled my way over to the shade. Then the girl said she was calling 911 because I was bleeding all over the place. I had no idea. I told her I DID NOT want and ambulance. So I just sat there and gave her Jon's number to have the dispatcher call him. Shortly after this a cop pulled up and before he even started talking to me he decided I needed an ambulance. Well as im sitting there bleeding all over this girls water bottle, talking to the cop, I finally realized that i knocked my tooth out and another one was cracked and about to pop off. I guess I must have flipped out cause I was trying to get up to find my dang tooth and the cop just kept yelling at me not to move. So he went over and found my tooth, and I just sat there in shock that all this was really happening.

So the fire truck and ambulance come. (why they need to send a fire truck, i don't know, but whatever) They strapped a neck brace on me (which are horribly unfortable, by the way) and put me on the back board. And my blood pressure had dropped so low that they couldn't even hear a pulse on my left wrist. So they were all getting worried but I was talking the whole time, so obvisiously I was fine, but no one would listen to me. Then off the hospital we go, by this time Jon had showed up, and since I am my fathers daughter I wanted a picture right in the middle of all this. Everyone was laughing at me but I didn't care.

(no im not crying or anything i was just trying to get my arms out of the way as they strapped me in)

So off to the hospital we go, my mom and Jon got to the hospital before I did. They took me in, two nurses ripped my pants and bra off( under my clothes i might add, they obvisiously had had some practice at this). Then I went to have some X-rays of my neck, that took forever. So after being the ER for a good 2 or so hours now, they stiched my lip up that had been cut up pretty bad by my broken tooth, got me some pain pills, and sent me to the dentist.

So the dentist basically said that the two broken teeth can't be saved so I am going to have to have root canal's on both of them. Then after poking and proding around and some more X-rays he said that my jaw was broken. BROKEN??? Are you kidding me??? All i could think was that they were going to wire my mouth shut and my life would pretty much be over. So he made a fake tooth and glued my front 4 teeth together to stabilize them until my jaw healed. He said that he can't do anything to fix these teeth until my jaw is healed because I'm not supposed to open my mouth that wide. Great, just Great. These are my four front teeth people!!!!

So this morning I had an appointment with an oral surgeon. He said that since my jaw is not completly broken and its not displacing my bite or teeth, that I can just be and a soft food/liquid diet for 6-8 weeks hope that that will stabilize it and let it heal itself. So good bye to my hamburgers, steak, corn on the cob, chips and basically everything i eat. And bring on the Jell-0, pudding, soup, noodles, and yogurt. It was funny because before the dentist told me what I could eat and he said that he was putting me and the "Body by Jeremy" diet because his first name is Jeremy. Which, if you look on the bright side, mean that I have he secret weapon the win the Biggest Loser group that Heidi started. HAHA Suckers!!!

Well all in all im doing fine. just been a little achey all day but im lucky that I was at the snow cone shack when it happened and not driving home and passed out.

Oh and the thing i feel the worst about is how Jon found out. He was on a run for work delivering parts to other stores and got a call from a number that he didn't recognize. So when he listened to the message it said " This is 911 Dispatch calling about your wife, she's been injured, has a head injury and is bleeding and being taken in the ambulance". Poor kid that would have scared the crap out of me.

This picture does not even come close to how swollen my lip is today, but the redness on my cheek has pretty much all gone. And this doesn't show my missing tooth. I wish i would have got a picture of that.
