All i wanted was a TREAT.

Well....Here how it all started. My lovely husband likes to go donate plasma, so he has also talked me into doing it, so I've been going for the last few months also. Well it's always been fine so I didn't think differently this time. Wednesday I left the Plasma Center at 1 and was going to meet Jon at 2 for his lunch break, so I had an hour to kill. And since I do love my treats I decided that a nice little snow cone sounded great. So I went to the BEST snow cone place in Providence by Firehouse to get my treat. I walked up to the shack, ordered my Peaches and Cream and then I suddenly started to get really hot. Then things were getting a little blurry and my ears starting itching/tingling. I have passed out before so I knew it was coming. So the girl handed me the snowcone and I paid her. Well thats all i remember. Next thing I know I felt my face smack the ground and the poor little snow cone girl is running at me. Yep, thats right I freaking passed out in the parking lot. I was at least 20-30 feet away from the shack and i don't remember getting there. Well the girl is yelling at me asking if I need help, i just kept saying "No, No, "I'm ok i think i just need some water" I got up and kinda crawled my way over to the shade. Then the girl said she was calling 911 because I was bleeding all over the place. I had no idea. I told her I DID NOT want and ambulance. So I just sat there and gave her Jon's number to have the dispatcher call him. Shortly after this a cop pulled up and before he even started talking to me he decided I needed an ambulance. Well as im sitting there bleeding all over this girls water bottle, talking to the cop, I finally realized that i knocked my tooth out and another one was cracked and about to pop off. I guess I must have flipped out cause I was trying to get up to find my dang tooth and the cop just kept yelling at me not to move. So he went over and found my tooth, and I just sat there in shock that all this was really happening.

So the fire truck and ambulance come. (why they need to send a fire truck, i don't know, but whatever) They strapped a neck brace on me (which are horribly unfortable, by the way) and put me on the back board. And my blood pressure had dropped so low that they couldn't even hear a pulse on my left wrist. So they were all getting worried but I was talking the whole time, so obvisiously I was fine, but no one would listen to me. Then off the hospital we go, by this time Jon had showed up, and since I am my fathers daughter I wanted a picture right in the middle of all this. Everyone was laughing at me but I didn't care.

(no im not crying or anything i was just trying to get my arms out of the way as they strapped me in)

So off to the hospital we go, my mom and Jon got to the hospital before I did. They took me in, two nurses ripped my pants and bra off( under my clothes i might add, they obvisiously had had some practice at this). Then I went to have some X-rays of my neck, that took forever. So after being the ER for a good 2 or so hours now, they stiched my lip up that had been cut up pretty bad by my broken tooth, got me some pain pills, and sent me to the dentist.

So the dentist basically said that the two broken teeth can't be saved so I am going to have to have root canal's on both of them. Then after poking and proding around and some more X-rays he said that my jaw was broken. BROKEN??? Are you kidding me??? All i could think was that they were going to wire my mouth shut and my life would pretty much be over. So he made a fake tooth and glued my front 4 teeth together to stabilize them until my jaw healed. He said that he can't do anything to fix these teeth until my jaw is healed because I'm not supposed to open my mouth that wide. Great, just Great. These are my four front teeth people!!!!

So this morning I had an appointment with an oral surgeon. He said that since my jaw is not completly broken and its not displacing my bite or teeth, that I can just be and a soft food/liquid diet for 6-8 weeks hope that that will stabilize it and let it heal itself. So good bye to my hamburgers, steak, corn on the cob, chips and basically everything i eat. And bring on the Jell-0, pudding, soup, noodles, and yogurt. It was funny because before the dentist told me what I could eat and he said that he was putting me and the "Body by Jeremy" diet because his first name is Jeremy. Which, if you look on the bright side, mean that I have he secret weapon the win the Biggest Loser group that Heidi started. HAHA Suckers!!!

Well all in all im doing fine. just been a little achey all day but im lucky that I was at the snow cone shack when it happened and not driving home and passed out.

Oh and the thing i feel the worst about is how Jon found out. He was on a run for work delivering parts to other stores and got a call from a number that he didn't recognize. So when he listened to the message it said " This is 911 Dispatch calling about your wife, she's been injured, has a head injury and is bleeding and being taken in the ambulance". Poor kid that would have scared the crap out of me.

This picture does not even come close to how swollen my lip is today, but the redness on my cheek has pretty much all gone. And this doesn't show my missing tooth. I wish i would have got a picture of that.

Strep Throat... A Blessing in Disguise.

So last week I had Strep Throat. At first I was really annoyed because im right in the middle of my internship and I just wanted to get my hours done, but I quickly got over it and enjoyed that fact that I actually had a week to relax and enjoy the summer. Jon and I are always so busy and pretty much have opposite schedules so are usually pretty boring. Well last week we got to do lots of fun things we never do. After I laid around the house for 2 days and did nothing, then the fun started. It just so happened that Jon had Thursday and Friday off so we got to spend lots of time together. Although it was nothing extremely exciting, it was great for us.

We mooched lunch of my great Mama two days

Went on a motorcycle ride up the canyon

Slept in the backyard under the stars

Layed around the house watching movies and taking naps

Stayed up late (past 11, which we NEVER do) and played countless hours of Wii

And we even went to a movie which we haven't done in months.

Here a picture of my CRAZY husband who I love so much and am glad that we can have so much for together doing nothing, there is never a dull moment when were together. I loved my week off and our few days to just spend together.

The End of the Tower Era.

So about 2 month ago (yes, very behind I know) my parents had the tower in our backyard taken down. My brother built this Ham Radio Tower about 12 years ago. He built over the summer and it stretched across our whole yard. I think it was about 150 feet tall. Well since it gets no use and is just an odd thing, they decided it was time to go.
They had a crane come in and hold it in place while they loosened the wires holding it in place from our roof and the big cement blocks the field.
Here is the Peanut Gallery. It was quite the event to watch!

They cut it away from the cement pad it was on and lifted it over the fence,

and layed it on the ground. It was crazy to see this giant thing floating in the air.

This was on the top of the tower. You can see how big it was.

These big cement things were buried in the field behind our house. They were holding in place from tipping over on our house. ;) They were pretty massive too.
Then when they had every thing pulled up and on the ground, they cut the tower into 3 big pieces and put in on the truck.

This is the finished product.

These are pretty random pictures, I know, but it was pretty interesting to watch.

Prayers for Sherri and Baby Dylan

So i basically copied this from Heidi's blog but she knew more info than me.

My sister-in-law Sherri delivered her baby this morning (6-23-08) 7 weeks early in a very unusual way.....needless to say Sherri will be released from the hospital this afternoon and the baby has been life flighted to Loma Linda in southern california. They have decided to name him Dylan Teancum....he is very well developed except for his lungs. At this time he can not breathe on his own and will most likely be in the hospital for more than a month. Please send prayers her way.....Thanks
